I came across an article from newspaper that I thought you might be interested in...This is similar to Adsense except that it is targeting particularly Malaysia and Singapore market (at least for now), and it is the first of its kind in Asia.

The firm is called Nuffnang. Since it promotes local (ie Malaysia and Singapore product), local blogger will stand to benefit more from its service. I will try and see if I can still find that article to share it with you.

One of the main reasons that affiliate marketing is so popular is that you sell other peoples products and services and not have to hold any of the inventory. A good way to find a market place is to write articles about the product or service and submit it to article directories under the proper category. This will drive some good targeted traffic to your site or product.

This next step is a very crucial step. This goes along with marketing the product. In order to be successful with marketing the products that you choose you might want to consider adding your personal recommendation to it. Nothing works better to sell a product than if you put your own seal of approval. Personal recommendations can be anything from a few words like "our top rated product", "my personal favorite", you get the idea. You can even go as far as writing a review on the program or the product for your blog and put a link to it from your blog site.

Finally you should offer some type of bonus. You can offer a free e-book to someone for signing up as an affiliate to one of the programs that you are a member of. This goes a long way with people. As you know offering something for free grabs peoples attention. Also this would be a great thank from you to the people you have signing to the affiliate programs on your site.

Well as you can see there is really not that much to creating a good affiliate marketing program. Put good reliable programs out there for them to sell. Do the homework and find the right programs, find the right market to sell them in. And remember to put your personal recommendations in your ads this will turn into sales. Finally don't forget to offer your visitors something free for singing up to your affiliate program.

If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. It's a cliché, but it's true. As an online business you have understand how many visitors your site receives. You have to know how much time they spend there, where they come from, and what pages they view.

Page View/ Page Impression - the number of times a web page is accessed, regardless of how many hits generated.

Unique View - A page view by a unique person or robot. If a someone has visited your web page yesterday, and they are returning today, their visit would qualify as a page view. The visit yesterday would qualify as a page view since it is the original page view within the measured time period.

Referrer - An external page that links to your site. By studying your referrers, you can determine who is linked to your site. Understanding your referrer data can help you where your search engine traffic is coming from.

Counters

Perhaps you remember seeing page visitor counters on website you have visited in the past. You may have seen a box showing that you are visitor number 37. Counters are normally located in the bottom section of a web page. Page counters are a sign newbies. They are ugly and unprofessional. Worse, they are useless. The data gained from counters are unreliable. Don't use them.

Trackers

Trackers offer a more sophisticated option to analyze user behavior and site traffic. They provide more indebt information than simply page counters. A tracker will break down your visitor statistics by date, time, visitor, unique visitor, browser, page viewed, referrer, and many other values.

Using Your ISP's Statistical Package

Most hosting companies offer complimentary tracking software. Some of the most popular tracking programs are AWStats and Webalizer. Both are open source programs, and they are free. Programs are easy to use. Each has a graphical user interface. The statistical data is presented in an easy to understand layout. Both AWStats and Webalizer will give you insight into where your site visitors are coming from, what web pages they are visiting, how much time they spend there, and what browsers they are using. Before you commit to a hosting company, check to see what statistical package they offer.

15 Tips on Driving Traffic To Your Blog

Many times when I read about the What-To-Do list I understand what it says but do not know how to do it. For example, I know what trading link is but I have not tried it before and have no idea on how to do it. Since this blog is for me to share with you what I learn, I am going to explore these items and share it in the subsequent blogs. Below is an article on how to drive traffic to your blog.

There are many factors that make blogs much better than normal WebPages including the speed at which blogs are indexed, ability to submit to blog directories & normal directories, pings and track backs. All these little things can help drive more traffic to blogs. Here are 15 popular techniques you can use:

1.) Create at least four keyword posts per day. Most of the top blogs such as Boing Boing, Daily Kos, and Instapundit (with literally tens of thousands of visitors per day) publish an average of 30 small 100-150 word posts per day according to "Secrets of the A-list Bloggers: Lots of Short Posts" by TNL.net

2.) Submit to My Yahoo! When you submit your own RSS to My Yahoo it is indexed by Yahoo.

3.) Submit to Google's Reader. When you submit your own blog RSS to Google's Reader the Google Blog Search will index your site.

4.) Add a relevant link directory to your blog and trade links like a demon possessed! Although it may take more time than simply submitting to a search engine one time, this method is perhaps the best way to drive traffic to your site. Use software such as Zeus to speed up the link trading process.

5.) Use ping sites like ping-o-matic. Ping your site every time you add a new post.

6.) Submit your blog to traditional search engines such as AltaVista, and MSN.

7.) Submit your blog to traditional directories such as DMOZ. Directories (particularly DMOZ) increase relevance with Google. DMOZ is very picky, but what do you have to lose by trying?

8.) Submit to as many RSS Directories and Search Engines as possible. This is a simple but repetitive process that can be done with software such as RSS SUBMIT.

9.) Comment on other blogs. Do not just leave short, lazy comments like "I agree." Leave well thought out replies that will force readers to wonder "who wrote this?"

10.) Use track backs. If there is a blog that you refer to or quote and it is highly relevant to your subject, leave a track back. It increases your link popularity and may even score a few interested readers from the linked site.

11.) Go offline. Use newspaper ads, public bulletin boards, business cards, even stickers to let as many people as possible know your blog exists.

12.) Ad a link to your blog in your e-mail signature block.

13.) Use Groups (Usenet). Find a relevant group on Google groups, Yahoo groups, MSN groups or any of the thousands of other FREE group services and find like minded people and talk with them. Make sure your use your blog URL like it is your name.

14.) Use Forums. Forums are one of the best places to go for advice. Go to forums and find problems to solve. Make sure you leave your blog name, but be tactful about it; some forums get annoyed with those who selfishly drop a few links to their own site and leave.

15.) Tag your website. Tagging is a new idea that has erupted across the web. Sites like Del.icio.us, Technorati and many others have a social feature that allows you to place your article under keywords or "tags" that everyone interested in that tag can see.

Although these are some of the most popular ways to drive traffic to your blog, do not limit your self to tips and lists. Use your imagination and you will come up with thousands of ways to drive traffic to your blog!

Apologize for “missing in action for a week”… I was busy squeezing my brain juice on how to strategize my “making money plan” after attended the second session of Jo Han Mok's Internet Coaching Workshop on 14, 15 Jul.

Internet Marketing For Newbies - The Why Of Wordpress by Ian Hollander

So many "newbie" internet marketers struggle with the logistics of designing their first sites. Learning to code tables, CSS, Adsense, affiliate code positioning and the associated heavy lifting learning curve in executing all of this in an aesthetically appealing way is robbing them of their most precious resource: Time.

I know this only because I wasted just about the first year of my online marketing experience on trying to design the perfect looking site. Inserting Adsense Into WordPress

If you own a WordPress blog and you are a newbie like me, you probably will struggle a bit to figure out how to put your Adsense Ad there.

This is what I found out (if you have a better way to do it, pls help to enlighten me):

1. To insert the ad, click on Presentation -> Theme Editor -> Main Index
2. Use the function find in the browser to look for ‹? php the_content
3. Before this, paste:

‹div style="float:left;">
Paste your 250x300 adsense code here to display the ads at the top left of your post.
To make it display at the top right, change the word "float:left" to "float:right"
‹/div>

And now your ads will be blended into the contents!

Especially if you are new to Internet Marketing business and do not want to invest much yet, free software are the best tools to test drive your business.

To build your web page, commonly used software available are Microsoft FrontPage and Adobe Dreamweaver. You can try Microsoft FrontPage 60-days Trial. In 2007 release, FrontPage is called, or rather divided into SharePoint Designer and Expression Web. You can read more here. You can also download them individually if you do not want to download the whole micro soft Office, just click on the links above.

Alternatively for Dreamweaver, you can also download Adobe Dreamweaver Trial.
